BNI 20 Point Meeting Agenda

A BNI meeting always runs to the same 20-point agenda. Commencing at 7am and to be concluded by 8.30am at the latest, an outline of the agenda is listed below:
• 1. Open Networking - Members begin turning up to a BNI meeting from 6.30am onwards, but most of them arrive at about 6.45am, when the Open Networking really gets underway. The meeting is then called at 7.00 to start by 7.10am.
• Phones OFF
• 2. Introductions - The leadership team and visitor hosts are now introduced to the meeting.
• 3. introduction to BNI Chapter Director who opens with an introduction to BNI, including some facts and figures about the organisation.
• 4. Education Slot.constructive advice on ways of helping us gain business and good referrals for our BNI colleagues.
• 5. Announce Network Leaders or Notable Networkers.
• 6. Business Card Box - Given that BNI is all about networking, it's important that every member has each others business card. So once the meeting is underway, the business card boxes are passed around the table for people to take extra cards if necessary in 2 different directions. Visitors to the meeting are invited to pass their cards around the table separately - and are given a full set of all the cards of the members. Also pass Thank You Money Box
• 7. Welcome New ReNewing members who have been approved by the Membership Comm
• 8. 60 seconds Each member then has 60 seconds to tell everyone about his or her business. about the various aspects of their business or about the ideal referrals they are looking for. The idea is to enlighten all members about the business they're involved with, enabling colleagues to go out and pass on their business card to people they meet during the week.
• 9. Visitors 60 seconds Once all members finish, visitors then have opportunity to do 60.
• 10. Membership Co-ordinator, various announcements on how many referrals are passed around the table, how many visitors come to our meetings. amount in Thank Yous etc
• 11. Membership Committee Report Announcements of Open Categories and how we plan to fill them. Adherence to policies and explanation of them etc
• 12. Secretary/Treasurer announces; the speakers for the weeks ahead and introduces the speaker of the day.
• 13. 10 Minute Presentation Each week a member has the chance to make a 10 minute presentation to chapter members to give them the chance to educate us about what they do.
• 14. Positive contribution. The passing of referrals is regarded as the highlight of the meeting. It's where business is passed across the table! The idea is to pass on a referral to fellow members which will hopefully convert into worthwhile business. If on a particular week a member doesn't have a proper referral to pass on, then they can give a testimonial. Testimonials are put in writing and used as a valuable document for the member's business.
• 15. Referral reality check - to make sure that referrals passed in previous weeks are successful, and that real business is being done between members.
• 16. Secretary/Treasurer Report on Renewals, Overdues and Visitor Statement
• 17. Thanks from Chapter Director to Named Visitors and send them for Orientation
• 18. Events CoOrdinator. BNI Announcements on Training etc
• 19. Door Prize - it's donated each week by the speaker and is drawn from the referral slips handed in by members.
• 20. Close meeting - announcements from the Chapter Director, followed by a thought for the day...often amusing, but always thought provoking, meeting concludes by 8.30am
